The 'Diving Into the Past' display

The 'Diving Into the Past' display at the Bay Discovery Centre at Glenelg features most of the items found by SUHR divers at the old Glenelg jetty site in the 1970s,

The display was largely set up by SUHR member John Perkins. It had opened by early 2000, or earlier, meaning that it has been on display for some 24 years now.

The opening of the display was reported in the Jan-March 2001 SUHR newsletter "Soundings": -

The display still looks great and relevant today. It is hoped that it will continue for many more years to come.

The display is a direct result of the SUHR's Holdfast Bay Project, as outlined in this report:-

The TV screen in the display shows a shortish video about the Holdfast Bay Project and features SUHR members. Be sure to step up to the TV screen to start the video when you visit the display.
